Seabourn Alaska

ENHANCE AND EXTEND YOUR ALASKA & BRITISH COLUMBIA EXPERIENCE with our optional Ventures by SeabournTM and exclusive shore excursions. Here is a sampling of our favorites:

ALERT BAY – KAYAK EXPLORATION OF CORMORANT MARINE PARK
Transfer by Zodiac to one of the best places to encounter British Columbia’s prolific wildlife, where your double sea-kayak adventure begins. Accompanied by a kayak guide and safety Zodiac, paddle through the park’s forest-sheltered, scenic waters, watching for wildlife including seals, whales and eagles.

HAINES – DAVIDSON GLACIER HIKE & ZODIAC
After a Zodiac ride to Glacier Point, follow your Expedition Team members and local guides through the Alaska rain forest to the base of Davidson Glacier. There, gear up with a helmet, ice-axe, crampons and step out for a walk onto Davidson Glacier, crowning an absolutely unforgettable day.

INIAN ISLANDS – INIAN ISLANDS ZODIAC EXPLORATION
With your naturalist, explore the Inian Islands’ picturesque, weatherbeaten shorelines, teeming with Steller sea lions, otters and seabirds. Whales are common here too, drawn by the rich sea-life. Very few visitors are privileged to reach these remote, beautiful islets, which you will never forget.

RUDYERD BAY – KAYAK EXPLORATION OF MISTY FJORDS
In a double sea kayak, follow a path into the furthest reaches of Alaska’s Misty Fjords, where wildlife and wilderness are untouched. A kayak guide and safety Zodiac are along, but otherwise you are free to experience this special place as very few ever will.

COLLEGE FJORD – ZODIAC EXPLORATION OF COLLEGE FJORD
Cruise with your Expedition Team in spectacular College Fjord, surrounded on all sides by glaciers, including no fewer than five tidewater glaciers and another five large valley glaciers. The sizzle of melting brash ice and the occasional thunder of calving icebergs are sounds you’ll never forget.

TRACY ARM/ENDICOTT ARM – KAYAK EXPLORATION OF NORTH/ SOUTH SAWYER GLACIER
Kayaking Tracy Arm or Endicott Arm is an unforgettable experience. Paddle your double sea kayak past icebergs, waterfalls and wildlife to North Sawyer or Dawes Glacier, against stunning backdrops of towering mountains. A kayak guide and safety Zodiac follow at all times for assistance as required.

WRANGELL – RAINBOW FALLS HIKE
Join a knowledgeable Expedition Team guide on a moderate-to-strenuous hike. You’ll walk along a boardwalk, passing over a scenic creek and through incredible forest scenery, while ascending to the magnificent Rainbow Falls. The two-km (1.2 mi) hike gains 245 m (800 ft) of elevation.

HAINES – BURRO CREEK WATERFALL RESORT & CRAB BOIL: A MINDFUL LIVING TOUR
Cruise to Burro Creek Waterfall Lodge, an exclusive resort on America’s longest, deepest fjord, to experience breathtaking waterfalls, stunning views and elegant off-the-grid wilderness dining. Learn how a waterfall provides the lodge’s power, how to cook gourmet cuisine on a woodstove, or take a naturalist-guided forest hike.

ICY STRAIT POINT – WHALE WATCH & MARINE MAMMAL SAFARI
This high-speed cruise to Point Adolphus guarantees whale sightings. Waters along the way support a wide array of wildlife including orcas, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, sea otters, porpoises and magnificent humpback whales. Keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles in the treetops lining the shore.

JUNEAU – TAKU GLACIER LODGE, FEAST & FIVE GLACIER SEAPLANE: A MINDFUL LIVING TOUR
This is the ultimate Alaska experience – flightseeing five massive glaciers in a classic floatplane; an exclusive, glacier-view seafood feast at Alaska’s famous fly-in Taku Glacier Lodge (with bears!); a serene yoga session in a true wilderness setting and a guided nature walk in sublime surroundings.

KETCHIKAN – NEETS BAY BEAR WATCH BY FLOATPLANE
Take a scenic floatplane flight over the Tongass National Forest to Neets Bay, one of Alaska’s premier bear-viewing locations. A naturalist guide will describe the lifecycle of both bears and salmon during your short hike to a secure, covered spot for close-up observation of the bears’ feeding activities.

SITKA – SEA OTTER & WILDLIFE QUEST
In a water-jet boat with a warm cabin and a topside observation deck, navigate narrow island passages for guided wildlife viewing at close range, with opportunities to observe sea otters, whales, sea lions, porpoises, harbor seals, brown bears, deer, bald eagles and a variety of marine birds.

WRANGELL – STIKINE RIVER & WILDERNESS GLACIER BY JET-BOAT
Take an exhilarating jet-boat ride on one of North America’s last truly wild rivers, through the remote Stikine-LeConte Wilderness. View distant mountain peaks, spy on wildlife and spawning salmon and listen to thundering waterfalls before reaching iceberg-dotted Shakes Lake and, conditions permitting, a view of Shakes Glacier.
