Denali Custom Land Tour

Our exclusive itinerary includes a 6-night Princess custom land tour including: 2-nights in Fairbanks with a visit to a working gold mine and an authentic riverboat cruise, 1-night in Denali w/ 6-8 hour wildlife tour of Denali National Park, 1-night at the Mt. Day 1

Arrive in Fairbanks. Transfer from Fairbanks Airport to Hotel. Overnight at the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge.

Day 2

Complimentary buffet breakfast.

Morning tour to GOLD DREDGE # 8, a national historic district offering a unique tour of Alaskan mining history. Sharpen your gold panning skills.

Tour a segment of the Alaska Pipeline and learn about this engineering marvel that stretches 800-miles from the Prudhoe Bay oil fields all the way to Valdez.

Complimentary lunch at Riverboat Landing.

Enjoy the afternoon on an authentic Sternwheeler cruising down the Chena River. Our narrated Riverboat cruise will include a visit to an Athabascan Indian Village, where Native American guides will explain how the Athabascans skillfully survived for over 10,000 years and how they adapted to western culture in the past century. At the end of your guided tour, you will have time to explore the village on your own, and interact with the tour guides.

That evening, enjoy a private hosted by your Best Cruises tour director.

Day 3

Complimentary Tour Breakfast at Fairbanks Riverside Lodge.

Scenic narrated motorcoach from Fairbanks to Denali Princess Lodge. (approximately 3 hrs.) Afternoon at Leisure in Denali The Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge is the closest and most comfortable place to stay when visiting Denali National Park. The entrance to Denali National Park is located only a mile from the lodge. The lodge features an expansive deck overlooking the Nenana River with views into the park. The Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge is the ideal spot to savor this exquisite landscape. Optional activities include river rafting, flightseeing, horseback riding, hiking and ATV tours. Shuttle service is provided hourly from 7 am to 7 pm between the lodge and the Denali National Park Visitors Center.

Tonight, dinner is at the Denali Princess Lodge fine dining restaurant, King Salmon.

Day 4

AM Denali Wilderness & Wildlife Search (6-8 hours).

You haven’t fully experienced Alaska unless you’ve been to Denali National Park. Its boundaries encompass an impressive six million acres — the size of the state of Massachusetts. The park is home to Denali, North America’s highest peak, which towers an unbelievable 20,320 feet in the sky.

Our comprehensive 6 – 8 hour tour travels deep into the park (over 50-miles) where private vehicles are not permitted and the road is unpaved. Experience the amazing sub-arctic tundra and enjoy a narrated history of the park by your interpretive naturalist driver / guide. Here in Denali National Park will be some of the best opportunities to view the park’s wonderful array of wildlife including bears, moose, wolves, caribou and dall sheep as well as spectacular scenic vistas.

Afternoon motorcoach from Denali Princess Lodge to McKinley Princess Lodge. (approx. 2-hrs.) From the moment you arrive at Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge in Denali State Park, you know you’re somewhere special. Located south of the National Park near the Chulitna River, Mt. McKinley Lodge is a true wilderness retreat with a host of recreational activities, exceptional amenities, and awesome views of Denali which is only 50-miles away. Enjoy dinner at McKinley Princess Lodge fine dining venue, the Mountainview.

Day 5

AM at leisure

PM Motorcoach from McKinley Princess Lodge to Talkeetna Rail Station.

Midnight Sun Deluxe Rail from Talkeetna to Anchorage. Princess rail cars offer full-dome panoramic view, bar service and guest seating in dome, open-air outdoor observation platforms, full service dining salon with meals prepared to order, circular stairways to upper level, stainless steel selfcontained kitchen and wireless public address system.

Arrive in Anchorage and transfer from rail station to The Captain Cook Hotel. (Approximately 5:00 pm) Anchorage is a modern city surrounded by spectacular wilderness and the state’s largest community. Enjoy world-class attractions, Native Alaskan culture, shopping and dining. From the sparkling waters of Cook Inlet to the tallest peaks of the Chugach Mountains, Anchorage encompasses wild adventures and metropolitan appeals that form largerthanlife experiences. Anchorage was named one of the 10 best U.S. cities by Outside Magazine.

This evening enjoy a tour Dinner in Anchorage at the hotel.

Day 6

Morning Visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center.

The Alaska native heritage center is a premier cultural center sharing the rich heritage of Alaska’s 11 major cultural groups. Visitors experience Alaska native culture first-hand through engaging storytelling, authentic native song and dance, artist demonstrations, native games demonstrations and more. Unique opportunities to interact and participate create an enlightening educational experience for all.

Afternoon leisure time for optional activities in Anchorage. Shopping, Bicycle tours / rentals, sightseeing, fishing, visiting museums are just some of the available activities.

Dinner that evening at the famous "Glacier Brew-House".

Final overnight at the Captain Cook Hotel.

Day 7

Transfer to the airport for your flight home and / or stay a few additional days in Anchorage (optional).
